I am the Vice-Chair of Governors, Co-opted and the Link Governor for the Curriculum, Science and PHSE. I believe strongly in the transformative potential of learning. The benefits extend far beyond the gaining of knowledge. A person learning in an encouraging, supportive and safe environment will flourish as an individual - something we should be aiming to achieve for all children. My local government background gives me understanding of the local area and some of the unique challenges faced in Deptford schools.

Indeed, I actually worked out of an office in the old Tidemill building when working with schools to implement extended services when the initiative was first introduced.

I have recently taken early retirement and am looking to spend some time volunteering (hopefully usefully). I believe my skill set will be transferable and will help me to provide effective support to the Tidemill school community.
