Volunteering
Opportunities for Volunteers!
Do you have a little time to spare each week or a talent you could share on occasion? If you are looking for a rewarding experience, we have plenty of opportunities for any parents/carers who wish to become more involved with the school. We are always on the lookout for volunteers to help with many different activities, for example:
- Reading with children
- Assisting on trips and educational visits
- Supporting curriculum topics such as fashion, newspaper writing or RE festivals
- Speaking to pupils at Career's Week
- Helping with major school events such as the summer fair, Autumn or Summer term productions
- Sharing stories
- Drama workshops
- Sporting activities
- Art workshops
- Music/singing
- Gardening
- Cooking demonstrations
Any help or skills you are able to offer would be greatly appreciated. You will need to commit to a regular time each week if it is a regular activity (e.g. reading) so we can plan for you coming along. Please note, it is a requirement of every school that all volunteers have safeguarding checks and are able to provide referees. If you are interested in getting involved, please speak to our Fun & Well-Being Leader in the office about the support that you can offer and the days you are available.
At the Heart of the Community
We are keen for our pupils to undertake community projects and always like to get involved in local regeneration activities that will help the children develop their environmental awareness whilst also using their leadership, creative, artistic and writing skills. Please do let us know if you have any projects in mind via the Contact Us page.
We want the school to be at the heart of the community – with the school becoming a resource that can be used all year for community events, sports activities and family learning classes. The school halls and ball court are available for hire through the Centre Management Team who are located in the library.
