Tidemill Nursery

Admission Arrangements

We offer all new Reception children a place to start in September regardless of when their birthday falls. The Reception admissions are handled centrally by Lewisham Local Authority and you will need to apply electronically on www.eadmissions.org.uk (usually by mid-January) detailing your school preferences. Open days at Tidemill are held during the Autumn Term to give prospective parents a chance to see the school.

If you would like to learn more about applying to start primary school, you will find information on Lewisham's website.

Admissions to Nursery are handled directly by the school, in line with the Tidemill Academy Admission Policy. In year admissions (for children joining the school after Reception) are managed by Lewisham Local Authority and ‘In year admission forms’ are available at school, online or from Laurence House in Catford.

Admission to the Speech and Language Resource Base is through the Lewisham Special Educational Needs Provision and Placement Panel, not Tidemill Academy. For further information about admission to the Speech and Language Resource Base, please read our Speech and Language Resource Base prospectus.

If you are offered a place at our school, our Family Liaison Officer will work with you and your child to ensure a smooth transition to Tidemill, making sure your child settles into their class as quickly as possible.

    Home/School Agreement

All parents/carers and pupils are asked to sign a Home School Agreement when they become a pupil at Tidemill. The purpose of this agreement is:

    • To foster partnerships between the school and parents
    • To maintain high standards across all areas of school life
    • To make expectations clear on all sides

We have high expectations of ourselves, our children and our parents and carers, so please ensure you read through the agreement carefully and discuss it as a family.
