Tidemill Academy is proud to be the Lead School for the REAch Teach Primary Partnership. With over ten years successfully training teachers, from initial teacher training through to Headship programmes, we provide a strong offer built on many years serving pupils as a creative and innovative school. We work locally and nationally, with schools who share the same belief that all children deserve the very best educational offer. We are committed to learning from each other and creating a sustainable impact on the quality of learning beyond our own school gates.

The Partnership offers the School Direct PGCE route into teaching. Unlike a university led PGCE, trainee teachers can select the main school you wish to train in, meaning you can train locally whilst ensuring the school is the right fit for you. Our School Direct Primary PGCE is a unique, blended programme that puts you in control. With partner schools across the country, we provide local training as part of a national network. Our training is supported by expertise from the country's largest primary only Academy Trust, REAch2, alongside the academic rigour of the University of Derby, ranked as 'outstanding' by Ofsted. Our trainees have been hugely successful; since 2014, 100% of our School Direct trainees received ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ outcomes at the end of the programme.
