Lorraine Stewart - Headteacher
As Headteacher, I am on the governing body and attend all full governing body and sub-committee meetings. I have been on the governing body several years, previously as a staff governor. Governors play an important role in the school, exercising their powers and responsibilities in partnership with the staff. Although they are not involved in the day-to-day running of the school, they play a large role in planning for the school's future at a strategic level. Governors act as a critical friend to the school, offering support and advice and ensuring the school improvement agenda heads in the right direction.
Tidemill has a strong and active team of governors who bring a range of skills and expertise that is valuable in making Tidemill such a great place to educate children. Many of them are available in the playground on a regular basis and are very ‘hands on’ in their contribution to the school.
