Kerri-Anne Bannon - Staff Governor
As Assistant Headteacher at Tidemill Academy, I am passionate about providing excellent educational opportunities for every child and working in close collaboration with our school community. As part of my role, I am heavily involved in teacher training and mentoring new teachers; I believe in developing well-trained and knowledgeable teachers who are highly motivated by the job they do and who feel supported within their role. I also lead on the curriculum, working collaboratively with the Tidemill team to ensure that our curriculum is broad and balanced and that our children are highly motivated by their learning.
Furthermore, having recently completed a Masters in Education, I am particularly interested in how we can improve social mobility through education and further improvements in educational policy. I was motivated to become a school governor to further support our children, school community and staff, and to help ensure that Tidemill Academy continues to be an exceptional place to both learn and work. I believe strongly in the power of education and feel that being a staff governor will give me a greater insight into the running of the school and the educational climate within the UK. I hope that I will make a valuable contribution to our governing body.
